Text credits
To provide a data model allowing automatic switching between verse numbering in the different Bibles, a full correspondence table, verse by verse, and when necessary verse part by verse part, has been included in the database1.

Ancient Bibles
Text and numbering have been reviewed by comparing with the following printed edition: R. Kittel, K. Elliger, W. Rudolph, A. Schenker, Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, Stuttgart 1997.
Old Testament
Text and numbering have been reviewed by comparing with the following printed edition: A. Rahlfs, Septuaginta, id est Vetus Testamentum Graece juxta LXX interpretes, 2 vol., Stuttgart, 1935, 1950(4). Rahlfs’ edition was chosen because it is by far the most common. The edition revised by R. Hanhart, 2006, not yet widespread, includes, apart from the accents, only two textual changes: Es 5.17 ἀπειλημμένων becomes ἀπηλειμμένων; Es 53.2 ἀνηγγείλαμεν becomes (by conjecture) ἀνέτειλε μέν.

Douay-Rheims Bible, translated from the Latin Vulgate, New Testament, Reims 1582, Old Testament, Douay 1609-1610, revised by R. Challoner, 1749-1752. The electronic files were downloaded from the BibleStudyTools website. The Douay-Rheims Bible is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English. It was the first officially authorized Catholic translation of the Bible in English and formed the basis of some later Roman Catholic Bibles in English. It includes the seven Deuterocanonical books (also known as the Apocrypha). It is in the public domain.
Pierre Giguet, La Sainte Bible. Traduction de l'Ancien Testament d'après les Septante, Paris 1859-1872 (4 volumes). The electronic files were downloaded from the Theotex.org website. The numbering of this electronic text was reviewed by comparing with the printed edition, as there were a lot of differences; the text itself is often slightly different from the printed edition. This review has not been done for the following books: Psalms, Proverbs, Song, Jeremiah, Baruch, Lamentations, Ezekiel and Daniel. Pierre Giguet’s translation is in the public domain. This translation has been completed by some other texts, found on the blog Les Cigales éloquentes.
